TimB from Alaska (Stayed May 2018)
The hotel is located right on Lake Taupo. The rooms were clean and the view of lake was great. You can walk on a trail along the lake right next to the hotel. The food in the restaurant was very good. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.
Andycrawf from Sevenoaks (stayed April 2018)
Stayed for 2 nights on a road trip of the North Island. We had a a deluxe lake view room – ‘fabulous’ is the appropriate word. Large, modern, comfortable, great facilities and that view…….
We ate in the main restaurant on the first evening (Valentine’s day) with a table by the window overlooking the lake. A very nice meal but overall was left somewhat underwhelmed. It was expensive for what it was – food okay but not spectacular, service fairly average.
Second night ate in the bistro (actually had a table outside on the patio). Fantastic! We were treated like royals, the food was superb and the views were to die for with the sun setting over dessert.
Reception staff were helpful and friendly for check-in and check-out etc. All in all a memorable and great stop. When we visit NZ again ( we do plan to) we would love to go back to this hotel.
